MGEC delivers a highly efficient power supply solutions for the safe operation of systems in industry, information and telecommunication, office buildings etc.
Under the aspect of the worldwide strongly increasing energy requirements at limited natural resources, MGEC delivers the most developed of energy efficient power supply systems. The increase of the efficiency of our systems and the involved reduction of power loss is one of the main tasks.
With our new high efficient rectifiers type “GRP” we could considerably optimize the current consumption by mo- dernest technology using active power factor correc- tion (PFC) and thereby we achieved a power factor of nearly “1”. The new technology helps to save ener- gy costs and is an environmental contribution to the efficient use of limited resources. Parallel to the energy sa- ving we have achieved material savings by using the IGBT- technology. Thereby the rectifiers can be designed much
more compact as by use of conventional technologies.
MGEC offers rectifiers with different designs and technologies. This product range contains:
- Lamp rectifiers.
- Battery buffered rectifiers (DC-UPS).
- Switched-mode rectifiers.
- PFC-rectifiers.
- 6-pulse/12-pulse-rectifiers.
- Rectifiers for submarine technologies.
The technologies were adjusted continuously to the market and its current requirements – both to the requirements of more compact and economical system solutions on the worldwide telecommunication markets as well as very special demands e.g. in the segment of submarine technology.
There is a variety of options for adjusting the rectifier systems to the respective applications. Whether the request of use under increased ambient temperatures or increaed shock and vibration stress:
Thyristor rectifiers
- UP-TO-DATE TECHNOLOGY AND SECURE POWER SUPPLY In the rectifiers with thyristor topology generally rectifier bridges in B6C circuits are applied. Optionally also rectifiers with fully controlled 12-pulse rectifier bridges can be provided for specific applications. The control board is the heart of the thyristor control, an AVR microcontroller with ISP flash and CAN controller. All control and signal interfaces important for rectifier operation as well as a RS 232 interface for the connection of an external computer are made available on the controller board.
- USE AS UPS SYSTEM FEASIBLE By using rectifiers combined with batteries uninterruptible DC power supply (UPS systems / DC-UPS systems) can be ensured. These thyristor-controlled rectifiers with parallel-connected batteries are necessary to protect electrical DC consumers with higher performances against the consequences of grid failure. Lead as well as nickel-cadmium batteries can serve as energy storage systems. The rectifiers offer a high amount of reliability and dispose of a vast monitoring concept. The electronic control of the output voltage functions according to the IU characteristic in accordance with DIN 417773 and therefore provides efficient and gentle loading of the connected batteries. Further characteristics as IUI, IUU, IUU/T etc. are programmable. Application areas for DC UPS systems with thyristor technology are:
- Transformer stations
- Power plants
- Oil and gas industries as well as
- Shipping and rail transport.
Thyristor rectifiers offer an optimal solution for DC power supply of consumers with high performance values. The integrated digital thyristor rectifier control meets the highest requirements of modern and secure power supply. Thanks to these diverse options the devices can be adjusted to the respective application. The performance values can be designed according to customers’ specifications. Performance increase is feasible via parallel operation of maximum three devices.
Modular Rectifiers
Switched-mode rectifiers are available with output voltages of 12 V, 24 V, 48 V or 60 V. The rectifiers have a modular design and can be deployed both as power supply unit and charging unit. In combination with batteries the systems offer the optimal solution as uninterruptible DC supply for critical loads. The switch-mode rectifiers are available in modular design and in a 19-inch version. In the modular version the device is ideally suited as power supply or charger unit for mounting into control cabinets. By the means of simple 4-hole fixing the modular version can be fixed easily on any mounting panel. The base module disposes of a performance factor control, is convection- cooled, short-circuit proof and has interfaces for remote signalling. In the 19-inch version we deliver the rectifier in a solid, coated steel sheet frame. The system guarantees the galvanic separation from the grid and has high efficiency. Further advantages of these systems are the robustness (almost maintenance-free) as well as the low noise-level. On the clearly arranged operating panel load voltages can be set and operating states of the device can easily be read via LED.
The systems are customer-specifically manufactured and therefore detailed technical data are only available on request. You are most welcome to contact our personnel of sales or engineering department!
