Military

Our military power supplies are built to withstand harsh operating conditions, including extreme temperatures, shock, and vibration. They are designed to provide reliable power in the field, even in the most challenging environments. We offer a range of customization options to ensure that our power supplies meet the specific needs of our customers. Our products are used in a variety of military applications, including communication systems, radar systems, and ground vehicles. At our company, we are committed to providing our customers with high-quality, reliable products that meet their unique requirements. Our rectifiers are designed to convert AC power to DC power, with features like ruggedized enclosures, high-temperature components, and advanced power management software. Our load banks are used for testing and maintaining power systems, with features like adjustable load levels and remote monitoring capabilities. We pride ourselves on our ability to deliver innovative solutions that help our customers meet their mission-critical objectives. Extrusions, molded components, vulcanized and fabricated parts, and sheets are produced in-house to ASTM, SAE, MIL-STD, and other severe military criteria. We provide aircraft silicone gaskets, seals, and materials in all five ASTM D1056 hardness categories. MGEC delivered qualified products for Boeing BMS 1-23, as well as all three hardness’s of BMS 1-60. Fabrics strategically embedded into our flex-resistant silicone give strength and prevent straining. Other military specs and bespoke compounds might result in open or closed cell construction.

Products and Solutions

UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLY (UPS SYSTEMS)

UPS-Systems for military applications. MGEC delivers UPS especially for military use. With its housing entirely made of aluminum the systems are tested for shock and vibration and are available within the power range from 1000 up to 2000 VA. These systems are used on minesweepers and frigates. We are also delivering 3 phases ups of 30KVA power complete with battery system.

One of our models is an UPS system especially for the supply of the AIS-systems on Navy vessels. These UPS systems have GL approval and a LED display panel which provides perfect displays even under extreme conditions.

The Uninterruptible Power Supply is customized according to the customers’ requests.

AC/DC CONVERTERS (RECTIFIERS)

DC-Power Supply for Submarines

The shore power rectifiers have been especially developed for the supply of conventional diesel-powered submarines. With these microprocessor-controlled rectifiers it is possible to provide conventional submarines with DC power from the onshore power supply. A low DC current ripple and rapid dynamic behavior ensure that the submarine’s sensitive electronics do not sustain any damage.

SINGLE-CELL TREATMENT UNIT

With periodical necessary gas charge of a back-up battery or formatting of cell elements of a drive battery can be performed. Here the necessary discharge of battery cells with constant current occurs automatically. For this purpose, all battery specific characteristics can be variably programmed. Up to three single cells can be discharged and charged with the single- cell treatment unit. Battery cells, which have lost or can no longer reach their capacity, can be regenerated with this device. Via integrated digitized monitoring electronics fully automatic charge and discharge cycles can be programmed and stored. Due to the automatic mode the implementation of these programs can be performed without monitoring operating personnel.

The shore power rectifiers are customized according to the customers’ requests.

RESISTORS AND LOAD BANKS

Steel-grid resistor elements are extraordinarily robust, heat-resistant as well as resilient and also provide an excellent price-performance ratio. We offer resistor elements of stainless steel or with a special chromium alloy.

  • SIMPLE OPERATION, HIGH SECURITY All operating elements of systems are mounted at the front without overlap. An acrylic glass panel prevents access of unauthorized persons. Load increments of 1kW increments can be selected. All load steps are secured in case of a fan fault the load steps are switched off.
  • FOR DC OR AC The load banks are designed for DC, but can, however, be used with AC up to a voltage of 72 V. The mobile load banks are suitable for e.g. generators operated rarely or only with minor load, for stress tests of emergency systems without load function or for error tracing and commissioning of generators.

  • STANDARD OR SPECIAL DESIGN In addition to our standard versions, we address special customers’ requirements with customized solutions. The systems are coated in grey /red. We will gladly offer, however, special colors, engraved company names or special technical features. With an optionally available integrated multifunctional device voltages between phases, between phases and neutral, current per phase, frequency, effective power per phase or all minimum and maximum values can be monitored.

SHORE POWER CONVERTOR

we offer a reliable shore-to-ship power solution for safe power transfer from the public electric power grid to the ship whilst port lay days. The shore power converter automatically adjusts the onshore network to
the on-board system

  • AVOIDANCE OF POLLUTION PROBLEMS All over the globe there are diverse mains voltages and frequencies. Owners of yachts are particularly affected by this problem whilst port lay days. An on-board electrical system designed for the European standards cannot be connected to the grid in the USA and vice versa. This in-compatibility of on-board and port (local) networks means that even in port the yacht must be supplied by the on-board generator – a loud and expensive necessity causing pollution problems and particle discharge as well as noise and vibration. The shore power converter automatically adjusts the onshore grid to the on-board system and allows a seamless transfer to the shore connection.

  • STATE OF THE ART IGBT TECHNOLOGY The power converter is designed as a static converter using state of the art IGBT technology. Its input contains a rectifier system, which automatically detects the onshore mains voltage and frequency and adjusts the transformer to those conditions. The rectifier supplies the IGBT inverter, which turns the DC- voltage into a three-phase network with low distortion factor. The consumer on board receives a high-quality, fault-free power supply. The double power conversion blocks out any faults from the shore network. A battery buffer to increase the supply stability is available as an option. Systems with a redundant or cascade design can also be supplied. We offer shore power converters type as an onboard solution or as 20- or 40-feet container system for port side installation. The power range starts from 60 kVA up to 1.5 MW.
