Telecommunication & Data Centers

Data centers are physical infrastructures that house and manage huge groups of computer servers, accompanying networks, and data storage devices. Organizations often utilize them to process and store enormous quantities of data, power technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT), and offer customers internet access. Data centers exist in a range of sizes and configurations, ranging from single server racks to enormous, dedicated facilities that span many acres. Organizations must design rules and processes that regulate the use of data centers to properly manage and maintain them. This encompasses data center physical security, data center staff, and the technology utilized to power and safeguard the data center environment. MGEC supplies and supports secure power components or systems for Data Centers, Modular products and engineered solutions are designed to realize Tier 1, 2, 3 and 4 configurations to meet our customers’ needs. UPS-MANAGEMENT

To check the safe functioning of the UPS systems, retrieve system information or to handle the settings of the UPS systems remotely, MGEC offers various monitoring and control systems for UPS systems, allowing the easy control and management of the systems. Whether UPS Management Program JUMP or diverse SNMP adapter, relay cards or Bus systems – the possibilities are manifold. We would be happy to advise you and find out the best solution for your systems and requirements in close cooperation with you.

SHUTDOWN- AND UPS MANAGEMENT SOFT- WARE JUMP

The software of UPS Management Program provides the customer with a single workstation and a user-friendly and easy to handle interface, whereby UPS systems can be controlled and monitored. A precondition for the use of the software as monitoring tool is the presence of a PC, which is directly connected to the UPS. Besides monitoring and control of the UPS the software allows a regulated shutdown of all computers connected to the network (multi-server shutdown). The software ensures that all users supplied by the UPS are informed of the power failure and that the operating systems are shut down orderly after an adjustable time or shortly before the end of discharging end of the batteries. Using this software for the management of the UPS systems the monitoring PC must be connected to the UPS directly via RS232 interface. Our software is used both as a single user version and for networks (homogeneous and heterogeneous). It is sufficient if one of the computers is connected to the UPS. The other computer will receive the notification via the network. As a matter of course the computers in the data network can have different operating systems.

RELAY CARDS

Relay cards serve to monitor the UPS systems and display the status only of the status: ON/OFF, error/operation; they do not offer any further possibility of description. Relay cards offer therefore the simplest manner of monitoring UPS systems.

UPS MANAGEMENT BY SNMP ADAPTER

If the UPS can/should not directly be connected to a PC and a network connection is in the vicinity to a UPS system, a comprehensive monitoring of the system via the SNMP adapter is feasible. The SNMP protocol (Simple Network Management Protocol) is a worldwide valid standard to control hardware connected to a network and to get notified about cross-network status data of the device. During use of a SNMP adapter the UPS system receives a single IP address via the SNMP protocol, by which the UPS system can be called, monitored, and controlled from any PC via a web browser.

SENSOR MANAGER

For monitoring and administration of sensor values in computer areas and buildings offers Sensor managers, providing the precise monitoring of temperature, air humidity and other measurements. Sensor manager detects injurious system conditions and initiate automated measures to safeguard critical processes. These include inter alia network alerts or shutdowns of server farms etc. By setting the limit values (min/max) the control and the execution of events can be managed individually, e.g. user-defined UPS and computer shutdown conditions. The easy measurement value setting of the sensors is implemented by scaling factors. The result is the precise evaluation of the captured values. The Sensor managers have available connection options for up to 8 single, analogue sensor elements, e.g. for values as temperature, humidity etc. (When connecting sensors with more than 4 sensor units a RJ12 splitter connection is required). The sensor manager is equipped with 4 digital output contacts and 4 digital input contacts. New temperature and humidity sensors with additional I/O module enable easy and direct connection without additional cabling. The graphic representation of the measurements is possible via web browser, UNMS II, SNMP, Modbus over IP and WAP. Mounting kit for 35mm DIN rail or wall mounting is optionally available.

MESSAGING AND UND SERVER SHUTDOWN IN HETEROGENEOUS NETWORKS PER RCCMD

The RCCMD (= Remote Console Command) multi-server software is a soft- ware solution successfully used all over the world, which is responsible for the sending of messages for secure remote command execution and system shutdown of computers in problem situations. Thereby the messaging between computers of all common operating systems is feasible. Via RCCMD it is possible to shut down several hundred protected computers in a network at once (delayed if required) and above all in a controlled manner. RCCMD can be used for more than 35 operating systems. The RCCMD Version 3 can combine up to four UPS systems as a parallel redundant group. RCCMD is compatible with the software as well as with the SNMP. The RCCMD module is already integrated in the CS-121 and also in the software JUMP as an independent program module. The installation of the software is feasible on any computer.

MODBUS

MGEC offers a special developed MODBUS system to monitor UPS systems. The MODBUS unit converts the data flow of the UPS systems into the MODBUS protocol. Thereby the most significant operating parameters as well as alerts are allocated. For UPS series, the MODBUS connection is available in the form of a RS-485 interface, alternatively also as a RS-232 interface.

PROFIBUS-DP

The PROFIBUS connection is an extension of the MODBUS system. The central control of decentralized peripheries is enabled via PROFIBUS-DP; hereby the focus is on the manifold diagnostic possibilities. Visualization software in addition to the UPS diagnosis allows the display of the operating status in real time mode or within certain time frames, which can be determined freely by the user. For our UPS systems, an interface for the direct connection to the PROFIBUS-DP system according to DIN EN 50170 is available.

AC/DC CONVERTERS (RECTIFIERS)

Switched-mode rectifiers are available with output voltages of 12 V, 24 V, 48 V or 60 V. The rectifiers have a modular design and can be deployed both as power supply unit and charging unit. In combination with batteries the systems offer the optimal solution as uninterruptible DC supply for critical loads.

UP TO 320 A (24V) OR 168 A (48V)

Switched-mode rectifiers are available with nominal voltage of 24V and 48 V and expandable by means of their modular design up to 320 A (24V) and 168 A (48V). The individual compact rectifier modules with a capacity of 1 kW per module are equipped with active PFC (power factor control). This modern technology achieves a performance factor of 0.98 and reduces hereby the circuit feedback to a minimum. A superordinate monitoring unit, via which the input voltage as well as the output voltage can be adjusted, is available to control the individual rectifier modules. Via this control unit all parameter of the modules can be monitored during operation. In case of critical temperatures automatic shut- down of the concerned module takes place. The housings of the rectifiers are used as floor standing or wall mounted enclosures. For easy connecting, for expanding the system or in the event of a service intervention the rear panel of the housing can be opened, in this way all connections are accessible from the rear.

UP TO 40 A (24 V) OR 21 A (48 V)

Switch-mode rectifiers are primary switched power supplies with performance ranges of 40 A/24 V up to 21 A/48 V. All power supply modules of these type series are convection- cooled. The rectifiers dispose of single-phase inputs, for modules of 30 to 40 A three-phase inputs are necessary. The rectifiers of the type are suitable for panel as well as for top-hat rail mounting. Up to 200 A can be achieved via parallel connection of up to five modules.

FOR OUTPPUT VOLTAGES OF 12, 24, 48 OR 60V

The outstanding technical features of offer multiple applications. Due to their low residual ripple the systems are ideally suited for charging starter batteries, valve-regulated and vented lead acid batteries as well as NiCad batteries. The switch-mode rectifiers are available in modular design and in a 19-inch version. In the modular version the device is ideally suited as power supply or charger unit for mounting into control cabinets. By the means of simple 4-hole fixing the modular version can be fixed easily on any mounting panel. The base module disposes of a performance factor control, is convection- cooled, short-circuit proof and has interfaces for remote signaling. In the 19-inch version we deliver the Module in a solid, coated steel sheet frame. The system guarantees the galvanic separation from the grid and has high efficiency. Further advantages of these systems are the robustness (almost maintenance-free) as well as the low noise-level. On the clearly arranged operating panel load voltages can be set and operating states of the device can easily be read via LED.
